Who is leading the charge?

26 January 2026

Today the TrydaNi network of car clubs has fifteen vehicles deployed across nine clubs.

Since joining the team in June as Chief Community Officer I have spent valuable time with members, hearing their stories and accolades for our service.

Receiving anecdotal feedback is great (and we are always grateful for it, whether it’s good or bad!) but there’s nothing quite like raw data to tell us how we are doing. And because we’re a non-profit Community Benefit Society, we want to be transparent about how we are measuring success and what we’re aiming to achieve and share it with our members.

We’re aiming for vehicles to be booked out for at least 25% of the time (it won’t be on the road for all of that time, as many members take advantage of our £30 daily cap to book vehicles out for longer periods). We call this the vehicle’s “utilisation rate”.

Another obvious metric we measure is the total monthly mileage driven, and our numbers are going steadily in the right direction as we keep expanding our network.

Now we have a good grip on what makes a club successful, we’ve decided that the time has come to introduce a bit of healthy competition between our clubs!

There are lots of ways to compare clubs. We could factor in the number of vehicles per club or whether the club has had a spare vehicle deployed temporarily. But to keep things simple for now, we’ve chosen the number of days booked per club per quarter. So, at the start of 2026 (using the data from the last three months of 2025), the top 3 leaderboard looks like this (drumroll please!):

  1. Bethesda (37 days booked)

  2. Machynlleth (34 days booked)

  3. Aberystwyth (25 days booked)

Some interesting facts about our top performing clubs:

  • Machynlleth had 327 bookings in 2025 and an average of 46 miles per journey

  • Someone in Bethesda drove 577 miles in December!

  • The members of Aberystwyth collectively drove 12,726 miles in 2025

Now we are asking YOU to help get your local club up the leaderboard. All bookings count towards this friendly competition. Ultimately, the better all the clubs perform the more sustainable we become.

TIPS:

  • Always book as far in advance as possible. This avoids disappointment at busy times, especially as usage grows (if we find that a club is consistently seeing heavy demand then we’ll deploy a new vehicle to meet it)

  • Tell your friends! We rely on word-of-mouth to grow and there is nothing like a personal recommendation to reassure new members that TrydaNi is simple and easy to use

  • Don’t be afraid to ask questions! If you need help with any aspect of how TrydaNi works, remember that we are here to help either on the phone or via email. We also have our handy help content for you to peruse.

We will report back at the next quarter with more interesting stats,

Tom Simone
