Meet the team

TrydaNi exists to facilitate local car clubs run by their members and so there are many more people than we can list here, but the core team is as follows.

TrydaNi exists to facilitate local car clubs run by their members and so there are many more people than we can list here, but the core team is as follows.

Jamie Andrews

CEO

Jamie has a background in low carbon travel as co-founder and CEO of Loco2, a technology startup that aimed to make booking a train in Europe as easy as booking a flight. He built the company with his sister Kate over ten years, eventually selling to French national rail operator SNCF in 2017.

Jamie moved to Machynlleth in 2019 and joined the board of TripTo as a volunteer in 2021 before eventually being appointed as TrydaNi CEO in April 2024. When he’s not working on TrydaNi you’ll find him playing football at a game organised via another of his startups, Squaddle, or getting his bike fixed at Mach’s local community bike workshop, Seiclo Dyfi, where he is a volunteer director.

Cyrene Dominguez

Digital Operations Manager

Cyrene has nearly a decade of experience in community solar, battery, and charge point installations, gained while working with her father's community interest company, Gwent Energy CIC. She's very comfortable working on the roof carrying tools and solar panels when needed!

Cyrene has worked with TrydaNi since it's conception in 2019, helping to grow it into what it is today. As she has worked with many low-income communities, she loves the concept of car sharing and can really see the benefits it can have in our hometowns.

In her spare time she's a very creative person, producing bespoke digital hand drawn illustrations on her iPad for charities such as Gwent Beekeepers CIO and Friends of The Earth. She's a passionate natural beekeeper, eco-friendly gardener, and was Chair of Bee Friendly Monmouthshire for several years, raising awareness about the importance of our pollinators. She currently lives in Cardiff with her husband who moved from Seattle, Washington, and their three ferrets.

Tess cartwright

Marketing/Comms Contractor

Tess is a former games producer who brings a suitcase of creative problem solving skills. She prides herself in bridging the gap between tech-geeks and those who benefit from that tech. She ran a circus and a theatre company before shifting into technology through writing and producing her own game, Truth Sleuth- a story-book detective game that helps young people spot fake new and flex their critical-thinking muscles.

She is passionate about close knit communities who support one another and car sharing is an exciting concept that has the potential for real change in these trying times.

When she isn't working for TrydaNi at the Forestry Hub she is enjoying cycling in the Dyfi valley, repointing her house in Cwm Llinau with lime mortar or crafting at Machspace - the local Machynlleth maker space.

Sarah Hall

Regional Coordinator

Sarah Hall is the regional coordinator for Llanidloes and Llandrindod Wels.
A Llanidloes local all her life and working with the car club since June 2023 and a member since September 2022.
Driving is one of her true loves, alongside gardening and crafting in general, but mostly crochet, sewing and jewellery design.
She joined the car club when her own 20 year old car engine failed. She was unable to afford a replacement, but needed the ability to use a car ad hoc. The car club was her lifeline.
She will admit she was hesitant and a somewhat reluctant EV driver, Llanidloes had a petrol car up until February 2023 and loathes to admit she had used that exclusively. The EV was a game changer for her! Hand on heart, she says she was a convert after the very first drive. She believes having a car club locally is an absolute godsend. She thinks it is especially great when one needs a short term, ad hoc replacement. it's also great for a second car but only when one needs it.

Barbara Grantham

Regional Coordinator

Barbara has lifelong interest in sustainable living. She graduated from Leeds University and went on to gain a Ph.D. at Aberystwyth University. She has experience in sales and helped her husband set up a computer training and software development company. She has worked with North Powys and the Brecon Beacons National Park promoting sustainable tourism to local tourism businesses. Latterly she has worked in market research. She has not owned a car for 18 years and despite that, loves driving, especially around the beautiful Welsh countryside. She is now the Regional Co-ordinator for Trydani in the West Wales area.

When she is not working on Trydani related matters she volunteers once a week at the RSPB reserve at Ynyshir, enjoys organic gardening, wholefood cooking and cycling around the area on her e- bike. She is married to Andrew and together they have three boys and two grandchildren.

She spends much of her time in the water — whether at the pool, in a river, or in a lake. In her own time, she works as an artist and is part of a supportive artist-mother collective called ‘Ymhlith’, and is considered by friends as an organiser and someone who moves ideas forward. She has a background in homeless services within a local housing association. Hannah has a strong interest in community development and is also the Clerk for local Community Councils and works out of the Partneriaeth Ogwen office in Bethesda.
