Shared cars, shared responsibility
A big part of what makes our clubs work is our wonderful Community Champions (CC). These are members within TrydaNi communities who give a little of their time each month to care for the cars and help keep their local club running smoothly.
Here is our webpage about Community Champions and how you could become one if that excites you. We currently need more Community Champions in Llanidloes, Swansea, Bangor and Penygroes.
Tasks CC carry out may include, but are not limited to:
Keeping the car clean and tidy
Performing monthly safety checks
Taking the car to the garage when needed
Helping new members get familiar with the car
We are happy to reimburse Community Champions with car credits for their time and energy. Some of our Champions also tell us that there is something genuinely rewarding about knowing they are helping to look after a resource that benefits their neighbours and wider community.

TrydaNi cars are a shared resource within communities. Over the summer, we have unveiled four new car clubs, bringing our total to 13 clubs and 19 cars across Wales.
We are not a car hire service. Our project evolved from the first car-sharing schemes in Llanidloes and Machynlleth in the 90s, where there was just a pencil and a notebook in someone’s garage. That spirit of trust and shared responsibility is a legacy we continue today. We need members to tidy up after themselves and report any issues with the car so that we can address them quickly.
Being a Community Champion is a chance to become more involved in your local car club, get to know other members and play a real part in making shared transport work. The more care we collectively show these cars, the longer they will last and the stronger and more resilient our clubs become.
And you don’t have to be a Community Champion to play your part. Please think about the next person who will be driving the car after you: leave it tidy, let us know if something isn’t working and always tell us if there has been a bump or damage, however small. It helps us sort problems quickly and keeps the experience good for everyone.
Car sharing works best when everyone does their bit. Together, we can keep these cars well cared for, affordable and available as a shared resource for our communities.
