Full charge ahead for Spring

Spring has finally sprung, and the TrydaNi tree is beginning to blossom….

Back in January we shared some data about how TrydaNi grew across 2025. Now three months into 2026, we’re pleased to report great progress towards reaching our goal of a 25% vehicle utilisation rate and we have an exciting new video to share with you. Not only that, but we’re launching four new clubs!

New Clubs

When we opened applications for new clubs in December we had ten communities apply from across Wales. We went on to select four locations based on scoring criteria that we created to give clubs the best chance of success.

(Drumroll please!) Fast forward to next month and we will be launching new clubs in:

  • Swansea

  • Abergavenny

  • Penygroes

  •  Bangor

This brings our total number of clubs to 13, with 19 vehicles deployed in total across the clubs.

Our growth is occurring against a backdrop of a rapidly changing world. The cost of fuel continues to climb, and for many households, running multiple cars is becoming harder to justify.

We’re not pretending we have all the answers to the challenges our transport system is facing —but we’re here to offer a practical and affordable alternative. For families or households where a second car is only used occasionally, TrydaNi can be a way to cut costs without losing flexibility and means fewer cars sitting idle.

New Video

We’ve been working on making it clear what TrydaNi actually is. We know what we’re not; we’re not just another hire car company or faceless corporation, but we’re not just a local car club either (remember once you’ve joined TrydaNI, you can use any car in our growing network).

So, we’ve made a video to show exactly what it feels like to be part of the TrydaNi community. We hope you like it! And if you do, please share it!

Leaderboard update

March saw our highest usage to date, with our vehicles reaching a 22% utilisation across the network — our strongest month so far and not far off our long-term target of 25%. That means more journeys, more shared miles, and more evidence that our ambitious model can work.

And now for the moment you’ve all been waiting for! Here is the club leaderboard for the first three months of 2026:

1 - Llanidloes (45 days booked)

2 - Machynlleth (40 days booked)

3 - Bethesda (38 days booked)

Even outside the top three, we’ve seen significant increases. Aberystwyth, for example, reached 36 days—up sharply from 25 when we last produced the leaderboard—and would have ranked second if we were measuring miles driven rather than booking time.

So well done everyone, and keep up the good work!
